Portaudio library was useful to me to build espeak library with built-in sound output. Obtaining a Windows binary is easy:

1. Download the source code from portaudio.com. The copy of the source code of Portaudio v19 (rev 1788, from 2011-11-21) also here.
2. Build it on msys and mingw without problems using standard procedure,

There are also building instructions for various platforms among portaudio documentation pages. Microsoft Visual Studio included.

Download the file built by myself (remember, no warranty, use on your own risk): developer binary package, dll and h files.

I think distributing lib.a and similar files is no longer necessary, mingw gcc handles dll files directly when linking. Anyway if you discover problems while linking directly to dll, please let us know. We may put additional files into binary package.

Using the library

Switches will be necessary for linking with mingw. Remember, they should appear at the end of linking options, after other files.

License

The license is very easy to comply with. I guess only attaching the license itself is obligatory. The license is inside the download file.
